Biographical Information I have lived in the Wilmington, North Carolina area since I was two years old, with the exception of the time I lived in Chapel Hill going to school. I have been married for over 25 years to Ashley Burton Wilson, and have two exceptional children. One is a graduate of UNC-CH living in Wilmington, and one is a graduate student at UNC-CH. Ashley is also a Realtor, we work together on the Wilson Team with Barbara Crawford and Lindsey Bridges.
I have a diverse work background, having worked in advertising, steel, biomedical, and publishing. From 1993-2006, I was the owner/operator of Encore Publications, a local business that produced Encore Magazine and other specialty publications. After 13 years of successfully running that business I decided it was time for a change, and sold the company to Morris Multimedia.
I have always been interested in the real estate business and enjoy working with people. I have been with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast since September 2007. Prior to that I worked for a year in Brunswick County real estate and development at Cape Fear Realty.

Wade Wilson helped our family with the sale of an older home in Carolina Heights that had been in the family for 47 years. I was the family designee for the real estate negotiations and the selection of a realtor. Several good realtors were recommended for our consideration to list the house, but we chose Wade and his team - based on his high level of expertise in the neighborhood. We were extremely pleased with his efforts and the effective results in getting a unique, historic property sold in a timely manner. I am a professional mortgage banker and have a thorough knowledge of the residential real estate world. Wade epitomizes what a true real estate professional should be! He was persistent in a polite way and had excellent follow up skills both before and after he obtained the listing. We were moving from out-of-state, and Wade did everything possible to help us with the purchase of a house. We were so pleased with his service that when we saw a house we really liked a couple of years later, we had no qualms about entering the real estate market again, with Wade's assistance. He went above & beyond (even painting a door for us!), acting as both our seller's agent for our previous house and buyer's agent for our current home. The very first day our house was on the market, Wade set up an Open House, from which we received an offer, and ended up selling to that party. Wade is not only a knowledgeable, affable, hard-working real estate agent, he's a genuinely nice person.

We approached Wade and Ashley Wilson with fairly specific details of what we were looking for in a place to downsize. Within a very short period of time they were able to find exactly what we were looking for. We then listed the house we owned with them. They gave us good advice for what was needed to make the space attractive to potential buyers, as well as advice on realistic pricing. We found each of them to be very professional and we were comfortable that they worked with our very best interests in mind.

Wade first met with us three years before we sold our house and moved. After running the numbers and comps, he advised us not to sell at that time. Three years later the market was better and we once again met with Wade to see what we could do. Wade held an open house right when we put ours on the market and we were under contract very quickly after that. This put us on quite a timetable to find our new home. Wade worked tirelessly to find us what we wanted. He listened to our needs and showed us tons of properties. We ultimately settled on what has turned out to be the perfect house, and Wade kept us calm, grounded, and advocated for us as the deal was being negotiated. There turned out to be some crawl space work that we felt had to be done before we closed - Wade went above and beyond, even checking on the progress of the work in the week heading into the closing. We closed on the sale of our old home in the morning, and on the purchase of our new home that afternoon. Wade knows this town and the market very well. His experience, honesty and integrity are hallmarks of his work, and allow you to be confident that you are making good choices when buying and selling. In short, Wade is the man.
